What is Radon?
Radon is an invisible, odorless and tasteless gas, that comes from the breakdown of uranium inside the earth. Radon can present itself in our homes from the air we breathe or our water when it is agitated and the gas becomes airborne. Radon is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and is responsible for about 21,000 lung cancer deaths yearly. About 2,900 of these deaths occur among people who have never smoked.

How do I reduce my Radon?
Radon Air levels can be reduced with a Radon Air Mitigation System consisting of a suction point in your basement, a fan located outside or in an attic space to pull the air from below your slab and a ventilation pipe. Having this system installed by a Radon Air Mitigation System Professional and wired by a licensed electrician is the only way to ensure the system is up to Maine State guidelines and Radon Removal standards. Installation usually takes about 4 hours.
Radon Water levels can be reduced with the installation of a Bubble Up Radon water mitigation system. This system is approximately the size of a small washing machine that would be placed in the basement or utility room. This unit acts as a holding tank for the treated water, a blower creates bubbles in the water which breaks the Radon Air free from the water and ventilates it using 2-inch PVC pipe located outside the home. Installation usually takes 4-6 hours.
